Stressed?

Kelly McGonigal, a health psychologist and TedTalk speaker who speaks up about stress.

"Stress. It makes your heart pound, your breathing quicken and your forehead sweat. But while stress has been made into a public health enemy, new research suggests that stress may only be bad for you if you believe that to be the case. Psychologist Kelly McGonigal urges us to see stress as a positive, and introduces us to an unsung mechanism for stress reduction: reaching out to others." (TedTalks).

This video was brought to my attention in one of my psychology classes and I was hooked ever since.

She acknowledges stress as it is and reevaluates her own beliefs and the way that she works in her practice. She has gone from "stress makes you sick!" to "change the way you think about stress." If you change the way you think about stress, your body will follow in it's footsteps.

Take a moment to indulge in McGonigal's findings and maybe you will change the way you think about stress and ultimately become more healthy.
